New York – December 10, 2018 – GPB Capital has been included by Crain’s New York Business in the publication’s 10th annual “Best Places to Work in New York City” listing. This is the second year in a row that the firm is among the 100 companies in the Big Apple honored by Crain’s New York Business for their commitment to fostering empowering and supportive workplaces.
“Our employees are central to everything we do at GPB Capital on behalf of our investors and our operating partners,” said David Gentile, Founder and CEO of GPB Capital. “This is why going the extra mile to provide a collegial work environment for our team members, where everyone is encouraged to offer creative input and take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally, is such an important element of our culture. We are gratified and humbled our efforts have been recognized by our employees for two years in a row.”
The 100 companies listed in the 2018 Best Places to Work span a variety of industries in New York, such as accounting, engineering, finance, law, and technology. Crain’s reports on data gathered by Best Companies Group, which is responsible for the entire registration and two-part survey process, analysis of the data, and final rankings. All participants must pay a mandatory, non-refundable $199 registration fee. Additional fees apply for participants who desire translated surveys, paper surveys, survey customization, and copies of the Employee Feedback Report compiled by Best Companies Group. Nominations for the 2018 Best Places to Work were open from March 30, 2018 until July 6, 2018. To be eligible for participation, companies were required to be a for-profit business or not-for-profit organization, be a publicly- or privately-held business, have a facility in New York City, have a minimum of 25 employees working in New York City, be in business for a minimum of one year. The first part (25% of the ranking) consisted of Best Companies Group evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part (75% of the ranking) involved an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
The 100 workplaces included in 2018 Best Places to Work are divided into three categories: small, with 50 or fewer full-time employees, medium, with 51 to 100 full-time employees, and large, with more than 100 full-time employees. GPB Capital is categorized as a medium-sized company with an overall ranking of 25th. This ranking is not indicative of GPB Capital’s future performance.
